Hi, dear all, I'm a experienced language tutor in both ESL and Mandarin. I've been tutoring students since I was a freshman in college, so this is my 7th year of tutoring. I've always been enjoying teaching language learners, because personally I see this as a win-win--my tutees learned the knowledge from me while I got inspired by my students who gave me more new ideas of tutoring. I'm a dedicated tutor who often reflect on tutoring, trying to improve my tutoring skills and providing the best service to my students.
Moreover, I think tutoring is more private where I can know more about my students' needs, figuring out more targeted plans to help students improve their learning, which is something that cannot be settled in regular classroom settings. I care about my students, so I really hope that they can achieve their goal with my help--this is something that I'm pretty proud of--because so far I have always been quite helpful.
I'm a native Chinese Mandarin speaker who has tutored English native speakers on Chinese before. Also, when I was tutoring my former tutees, I developed a phonetic system/chart by matching English alphabetic pronunciation with Chinese Pinyin system. This proves to be a quite great success to help students learn Chinese pronunciation effectively and efficiently.
I'm quite experienced in teaching ESL students on TOEFL and IELTS prep. I have been teaching those test-prep classes for 3 years and I have also took the tests myself multiple times. I'm quite familiar with the tests. I have resources available for students, which can help students get ready for their tests.
I'm flexible with my schedule (my time are open after 5pm on weekdays) and weekends (whole day) are also open for lessons. If you are interested in learning English or Chinese Mandarin, please contact me. I will definitely respond within 24 hours. I believe we will have a great time learning. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a native Chinese Mandarin Speaker and I'm originally came from China. I have been volunteer tutoring Native English Speakers on Mandarin for the past two years. It was a really great experience. I'm also proficient and fluent enough in English which brings down the barrier of communication between students and me. I achieved A (91 out of 100) in the national Mandarin Level Test which shows that I'm qualified to speak and teach Mandarin to other speakers.
