Extremely Knowledgeable

Martin has patiently tutored my son in calculus for the past three weeks. It seems as though he knows every topic and problem right off the top of his head! He also has the ability to convey the subject matter to my son in simple terms that he understands. We are most grateful.

Knowledgeable, thorough, and patient

Martin helped me through my Calculus AB course while teaching me different methods to think about complex calculus problems. He taught me methods in order for me to finish the AP test thoroughly and masterfully. He is a wonderful tutor that knows the material on the AP test and undertands what is needed to get a succesful score. He also taught me necessary material that my teacher could not teach me in the school environment like thinking about how formulas are developed (what he did) versus memorizing them with little context (what my school teacher taught me to do). Overall, he is an outstanding tutor with patience and a tremendous knowledge of mathematics.

Patient, very good at conveying new math concepts in an easy to understand way.

Martin R. helped tutor me in Calculus 1. It is worth mentioning that I'm an older learner, in my late 30's. Taking an online Calculus course was a huge step for me....admitting that I needed help and asking for it was much more daunting. Mr. Martin was a wonderfully patient tutor, willing to explain these new math concepts in a thorough manner. Even when I had (what I felt were) stupid questions, Mr. Martin did not lose patience nor make me feel stupid at any time. He welcomed all queries, gently pushed me in suggesting concepts that I should memorize (basic trig) and helped guide my studies to achieve success. Mr. Martin was extremely knowledgeable in Calculus. He also possessed the ability to explain the information in an easy to understand manner, which helped bridge the gap between the textbook's lessons and my understanding. I would absolutely recommend Mr. Martin for tutoring. I plan to call upon him again for GRE/GMAT tutoring when the time comes.

Patient tutor

My daughter is so grateful for Martin's patient and gentle approach. He goes at the pace she can handle. She is feeling much more confident in her understanding of pre-calculus concepts since Martin had been meeting with her. Martin is so accommodating and flexible. My daughter has had to re-schedule her tutoring sessions several times and Martin has been very understanding. He is a wonderful tutor. We highly recommend him!!!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Martin worked well with our teen, helping her through a critical moment in A.P. Calculus. He really knows his stuff and is good at explaining it and letting the student practice in a structured way. He was also very generous with his support, taking offering online support during odd hours. Very good at what he does, and a really nice guy!

Excellent Teacher

Dr. Martin saved the semester. He tutored my high school senior in AP Calculus at least once a week but often twice, and helped her understand complicated concepts and equations. Dr. Martin was always punctual and extremely flexible with our schedule. We are going to miss him -- it's not very often that we get to interact with a Stanford Ph.D.!

Knowledgable, friendly, will continue

I had a great first lesson with Martin and look forward to more! He's clearly a master of the subject matter (in my case, calculus) and it's great to have his help.
