I've been tutoring students since 2008. I am very flexible in my approach to a student. I believe that everyone is capable to learn yet different people require different approaches. Discovering their learning style is as important as the information itself because I want to help the students become a better learner not just a better student.
I have been awarded the American Vision Award 2009 for Best in Show in Colorado Arts and Writing Scholastics Competition. I believe creativity is not only necessary for painting and drawing, but it is also crucial in academia. The key is to channel creativity into academia instead of it being a distraction. Ling was responsive and provided exactly what my Freshman needed for his Honors Geometry exam. My son said that her ability to draw and show 3d shapes helped him conceptualize and understand geometry well. He feels prepared for his exam now! I will hire Ling again!
Ling is great! She has been a lifesaver for our algebra 2 student and our 5th grader. We love her sunny and positive personality. Highly recommend her!!!
Ling has tutored my teen daughter several times in Algebra 2. We are so impressed with her knowledge, kindness, ease of presentation, and friendly demeanor. She works with my daughter to practice and understand the materials, and to look ahead at future chapters. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a confident, relaxed tutor, with an excellent grasp of math concepts.
Ling arrived on time, is friendly, patient and flexible with my three-year-old girl, and keeps the lesson moving and fun. Easy to reach, receptive to feedback, and a great pleasure to have in our home.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
