About Bryan

I am seeking employment to utilize my teaching and education experiences. I have a proven ability as a teacher to meet the diverse needs of students, to enhance children’s desire to learn by promoting teamwork through interactive group activities, and to ensure classroom management of more than 30 students at a time. Having a degree in history with a high GPA, I am qualified to tutor a variety of subjects. While attending San Francisco State University, I volunteered in a special needs classroom. Over the last two years, I was a substitute teacher for the South San Francisco Unified School District for all grade levels and subjects. As a kindergarten to twelfth grade substitute, I have a multidisciplinary approach that allows me to effectively lead students of different age groups in a variety of subjects including math, language arts, and history. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have two years of experience as a substitute for K-12th grades with the South San Francisco Unified School District. I would replace absent teachers for short to medium term assignments and follow teaching programs set by the regular teacher and create outlines and lesson plans when necessary. As a kindergarten to twelfth grade substitute, I have a multidisciplinary approach that allows me to effectively lead students of different age groups in a variety of subjects including math, language arts, and history. Attend faculty meetings, correct assignments, distribute homework, and foster a safe and positive learning environment.

Social Studies

I hold a teaching credential in the Social Sciences and have a bachelor's degree in History. To pass the credential, I had to pass the CSET which encompasses civics, history, and economics.

World History

I have a bachelor's in European history and social science credential.
