About Faith

Bio

In-person tutoring note: I only do in-person tutoring on UCSD's campus.

Organic chemistry note: While I've listed that I'd like to tutor organic chemistry, I have only take two quarters of it (out of the standard 3-quarter sequence plus a lab). Thus I can't help with all of it.

I have been TA'ing and tutoring students for three years through my high school. I have tutored chemistry, math, biology, computer science, history, English, etc. My high school tutees consistently reported...

I have been TA'ing and tutoring students for three years through my high school. I have tutored chemistry, math, biology, computer science, history, English, etc. My high school tutees consistently reported excellent feedback, with many becoming repeat students. One, who I helped through AP Calculus AB & BC, logged over 45 hours with me.

I enjoy tutoring for the moments when a tricky concept finally makes sense to my students. For this reason, I have a repertoire of metaphors and silly comparisons for science/math concepts. Patience and trying different kinds of explanations, in my experience, will always work for a student who is trying to learn. I am a straight-A student who wants to give others the understanding I've used to succeed.

I have helped two long-term math students through my high school's tutoring club, and helped both of them achieve their desired grades through many hours of after school work. I have taken math up to the AP Calculus and Calc 3/Linear Algebra.

I have TA'ed a chemistry class thrice, and a biology class once. In high school I took up to AP Chem, Bio, and Phys 1&2. In university, I have taken two quarters of organic chemistry (40A and 40B at UCSD), and have final exam scores of 98.6% and 99.3% respectively.

I am continuing to tutor because I love doing this. Please note that I am a full-time student and have a part-time job; I will do my best to fit you in, but scheduling in advance increases the chance I will be available. In particular, I have listed that I am available all Saturday but as the week advances that time tends to get scheduled by family, friends, group projects, and so forth. Sunday being unavailable is nonnegotiable.
