English as a second language teacher with experience teaching TOEFL

Hello, I'm an English as a second language teacher in California. I taught English in Korea to elementary and middle school students and I am happy to help anyone who wants to improve their English.
Something I love about tutoring is that the student can go at a pace where they are comfortable and challenged. In a one on one setting students can feel more comfortable asking questions, speeding up or slowing down when they need to. I have 2 years experience teaching ESL. I also taught TOEFL preparation at the time and am very familiar with that test.
I have a degree in history from the University of Edinburgh and am passionate about history.
I'm a kind and energetic ESL teacher and I am very happy to teach English learners anywhere in the world.

I use the direct method when teaching and like to focus classes around conversation about students interests and brainstorming to help prepare students with lots of ideas for writing assignments.
I've completed a 120 hour ESL teaching certificate and am currently pursuing a masters degree in teaching ESL.
