Hello! My name is James and I have a BS in Mathematics from UCSD, as well as 10 years of teaching experience, including time spent as a Math Professor at SDSU. I have a background teaching mostly math as well as High School level Physics, Chemistry. I am also a classically trained pianist with decades of experience as a musician. I am a seasoned Composer, Transcriber Arranger, and Performer with a deep and thorough understanding of music theory and its applications to piano, guitar, bass, drums etc. [I always say any instrument that you don't bow or blow I am an expert on :)] Although I have not formally taught these, I am also comfortable teaching English, History, and various other subjects given resources to look at. I assure you, you will not find a better tutor anywhere! I prefer online sessions.
My fundamental understanding of Math allows me to teach students in a way that doesn't require memorization. If you understand where a formula comes from, you can always find it again just in case your forget it. If that doesn't work, I know various methods that help with memorization, including fun/funny uses of acronyms and music. As a degree holder in Mathematics, I am confident teaching literally ANY level of mathematics, from the lowest of the low to the most complex college level material. I have an abundant resources library of worksheets and lessons that I will use alongside tutoring for extra work if needed.
Contact me to set up a session, looking forward to hearing from you. :)
