About Christopher

As I have said before, I am the second best online tutor in my family with my dog Bella at an astoundingly higher level of excellence compared to me. I love to connect with students who struggle to see the fun in learning. I too understand the struggles of material where it feels as though your brain does not wish to make sense of it all. I am here to help alleviate this stress and provide understanding and mentorship. I love math because it is a grand puzzle that beckons to be solved. Like any puzzle or challenge, there are a set of rules that are presented throughout one's elementary and middle school years, however, these rules which when applied become skills, are not presented in an understandable light. Math is entirely like learning a new language. Practice makes good, but perfect practice makes perfect. Learning how to practice math on a daily basis creates a skill that is far overlooked in the academic realm: tenacity.

I have 2 years of professional tutoring experience coupled with a lifetime of breaking down and explaining material to my friends, family, classmates, even strangers on the street. I am here to help. I recognize that through hard work and commitment, any goal can be achieved. I have maintained a 3.44 GPA as a Human Biology major at UCSD while having attained a position in a lab in which we work with HIV. I initially had no clue how to reach my potential until I received wonderful advice: If you wish to be great at whatever you aim to do, aim as high as possible, build a ladder, do whatever it takes, and most of all, find a mentor who cares. I worked at Mathnasium Learning Center for a year, won a competition in mental math in 8th grade, and I have spent my whole life helping others who wanted to learn to actually understand the math. I got a 740 on the math section for the SAT as well as a 780 on the SAT Math II subject test. But most of all, I care about any and all students who cross my path.

In high school, my AP Chemistry teacher was quite terrible at teaching high school chemistry. He treated the class like a college class and in turn the many 16 year olds in the class looked to me as a tutor and a guide. I myself had trouble grasping a few concepts but with teamwork and dedication, my classmates and I achieved an incredibly high pass rate.

Call me Beep me if you want to reach me. I am available all hours of the night. I am the best online tutor I know. I have tutored people through text messaging because of my ability to explain what exactly is going on and what my thought process is for the steps we are undertaking. Please feel free to contact me so we can make some magic!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I received a score of 740 on the SAT math section and 780 on the SAT Math Subject test. I am well versed in all types of high school math and am exceptional at problem solving with multiple math techniques.

Algebra 1

The past two years I have worked professionally as a Tutor. My primary focus was in algebra 1. My two clients I worked with one on one for the longest time were in algebra 1, thus much of my tutoring experience comes in these two fields. Also, I received As in both of my algebra classes.

Algebra 2

I have continuously practiced algebra 2 for the past five years of my life, with a keen focus on how to properly convey problem solving techniques in hopes of passing along the ability to look at a math problem and dissect it to determine the best application of math knowledge.

Chemistry

I got a 5 on my AP Chemistry Test. I have studied chemistry for the past 5 years as a student interested in science. I am now in organic chemistry where the past 2 quarters I have received the grade of a B+ for each quarter at UCSD. I started a club in high school, the Future Medical Doctors of America club, where we held tutoring sessions for chemistry, biology, and other various sciences.

SAT Math

I received a score of 740 on the SAT Math section 4 years ago and have only gotten better at SAT math including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
