About Nathan

I just graduated from Towson University (essentially Maryland State) with a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Minor in Mathematics, where I maintained a 3.79 GPA in my physics and math classes. In addition to classes, I have significant experience working with people. I was President of the Society of Physics Students for the last two year, where I started a program called Science Friday. Every Friday, a few fellow physics majors and I went to the Hampden Family Center in Baltimore to educate elementary-aged kids in science. This program was a huge success, winning the Marsh White Award for scientific outreach and education. I also tutored a high school student in AP Calculus 1 and AP Physics C (Calculus-based Mechanics).

I recently relocated to San Diego to support my girlfriend, who will be attending UC San Diego for graduate physics school in the Fall. I am looking to help and educate any students of any age in physics and math.

I was always talented in math, having completed Calculus 3 before I graduated high school. at Towson University, I quickly completed the requirements for a Mathematics Minor while pursuing my Physics degree. My math skills were then refined by constantly applying them in my physics courses.

I just graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's degree in Physics. I was President of the Society of Physics Students for two years, and I was awarded Outstanding Junior and Outstanding Senior. I applied my physics knowledge in three years of research, including work at the Albert Einstein Institute in Germany and Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago.

I love working with people, and I love teaching. I am approachable and flexible, so contact me with any questions you may have about my availability.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

I took Algebra 2 my freshman year of high school. I have had to apply these concepts every year in my subsequent math and physics courses, so I understand them very well.

Calculus

I took AP Calculus AB as a Junior in high school, and Calculus 2 and 3 at a Cecil Community College my senior year of high school. I then used the concepts I learned every following year in my physics and math classes. Other calculus math classes I took en route to my Minor in Mathematics were Differential Equations, Differential Geometry, Linear Algebra, and Fourier Analysis.

Physics

I recently graduated with a degree in Physics. I have a deep understanding of the Math and Physics concepts obtained in lower-level physics courses and applied in upper-level physics courses.
