In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I've finished my first year at SDSU in pursuit of a Masters in Public Administration. I worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the US Navy and actively evaluated foreign government institutions. I worked as an Intelligence Analyst with the US Navy and have heavily researched the history of numerous countries in the world. While pursuing my Bachelors degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution, I have taken numerous courses which required additional research in World History. I have taught World History as a Substitute Teacher in schools in San Diego County and I am familiar with Common Core lessons on the subject. When I cover topics in World History, I approach the lesson with the problems that civilization faced, what were the solutions that they applied and what impact their proposed solutions had in relation to their time period and if their are parallels today.
