Born and raised in Italy, I have been in San Diego for seven years. The love of learning new languages, lifestyles and cultures brought me far away from home. I know from my own experience how hard and challenging learning a foreign language can be. But I also learned that with confidence and dedication (and a good tutor!) any goal can be achieved.
After completing my Major in Politics and my Masters in International Relations with full marks and honors, I am now facing a new challenge: PhD. As much as I love studying and learning, I also love teaching. My experience in tutoring started long time ago when I was still in Italy, helping Italian students with test preparation and also assisting professors in lectures and test corrections. Still in Italy, I also tutored foreign students from all over Europe who were facing the difficulties of studying Italian language away from their own countries. Later on, as part of my Masters Degree, I spent one year in Nottingham (UK) where I continued tutoring, teaching Italian to English students. Since I have been in the United States I tutored both Italians learning English and especially Americans learning Italian. I am also available as a translator.
I specialize in teaching Italian language: conversation and grammar, speaking and writing, test preparation. I tutor students of any level and age, from beginners to University students. My approach in teaching may vary and it depends very much on your goal. We can keep it on a strictly scholar level in case your goal is to pass a test in a short time; or I can teach you basic conversation if you just need to face a trip to Italy with more confidence; or I can use a broader spectrum of teaching tools and set up an individual specific program if your goal is to handle the language at your best.
Furthermore, as an Italian living in US for a long time, I know the best way to learn a foreign language is to understand the related culture. So I will also walk you through Italian culture making easier, faster and more interesting your learning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
