University of South Dakota (Bachelors Fine Art)
All my life I've been heavily involved in the arts. In 2013 I pursued these interests, and received my BFA in Printmaking from the University of South Dakota. Throughout college I was at the top of my class in all respects, including subjects outside of my major. I'm very well read and continue to aspire for knowledge on a daily basis. I am well aware of the worth of a quality education, and I am excited to share my abilities with students that are interested.
I am a big supporter for a broad, liberal education and believe being cultured within a creative doctrine is greatly rewarding to one's professional development. That being said, I also believe not everyone is a square peg, and that an education should also adapt for those of different backgrounds. I think a great education is one on the personal level, all the while evolving in respect to a student's strengths and weaknesses. No creative is the same, nor should any lesson be.
I am formally trained in most doctrines of art, to include: art history, art theory (concentration in post-modernism, dadaism, and contemporary work), studio fundamentals, and studio equipment. I am exceptionally talented and have a high expertise in all realms of media including: drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking.
I have taught college-level workshops, given artist talks at schools, and written various grants. My background stems from a large interest in the arts and education, and I am always enthused to share my skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Throughout my entire education I have studied drawing, as it is a fundamental art form. My BFA was in printmaking which is known to be a very drawing-based doctrine. Much of my work that has been in galleries has been either drawing or painting based.
Painting, being the other fundamental next to drawing, was heavily taught throughout my education. My BFA was in printmaking. Much of my shown work that has been in galleries has included painting, as well as drawing. I am very familiar with the Munsell Color System, acrylic and oil media, and the building and stretching of canvas.
