“**Patient and Understanding**”

I have been tutoring for nearly 10 years, ranging from Adult Basic Education to college-level Physics and Mathematics. I am beginning graduate studies in Physics at UC San Diego in the Fall of 2015. I recently graduated from SUNY at Buffalo with highest honors in Applied Mathematics and Physics. I was chosen as the Outstanding Senior in the

Sean is a great listener and knows all concept of my daughter's AP Calculus problems. He's straight to the point and doesn't waste time. It took less than an hour for her to learn the concept.

Sean was an excellent tutor for my daughter at UCSD for Calculus 20b. He was able to explain and teach to her what her own professor could not. I highly recommend him.

Extremely knowledgeable! Helped tremendously with my college calculus class. Broke it down and made it understandable! I wish all of my professors explained things so well.

Sean is engaging and has a thorough knoweldge of the Calculus text book. He's willing to explain concepts more than once if needed. He can pick out the key points of a chapter to keep you on the right track without straying from the big ideas. I'd recommend Sean to anyone taking a course that includes Calculus.

I was so lost in differential equations but within an hour Sean had me on track and feeling more confident with the material. Sean made a topic I thought I'd never get and made it seem easy. Best money I've ever spent!

Sean went through a few physics problems with me to help me prepare for a test. He made sure I understood all the concepts before moving on to the next. I would recommend Sean because he is committed to teaching you what you need to learn. I feel more confident about my test in the future thanks to his dedication as a tutor. He is easy to understand & also visually describes problems for a more hands on approach.

Sean explained some math concepts in detail to me and reinforced what he taught by showing me some examples and having me do some practices myself. He is an excellent teacher.

We did some general set up and internet topics that had been irking me for some time.

Sean focused on my needs and lead me to the answers I was looking for, and ENCOURAGED me to do it my self.

GRE
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have completed the entire undergraduate calculus sequence, along with a multivariable calculus course. I received A's in all of the courses. Literally, I apply calculus daily to my physics education and research.

Differential Equations are at the heart of many topics in Physics, so as a Physics student I am very familiar with them. I have taken courses in Differential Equations and Partial Differential Equations. Also, I have taken two Mathematical Physics courses, which covered many topics in Differential Equations. I have experience solving such systems numerically, too.

I use multiple computers in my daily life. I prefer my MacBook Pro, but have a laptop that runs Ubuntu and Windows 7 and 10. I am also a Raspberry Pi hobbyist, so I know a great deal about Linux. I can also assist in integrating your other devices with your computer (e.g. iPhone, iPad, etc.).

I have received a perfect score on the quantitative section of the GRE (170), and 160 on the verbal section. I also have taken the Physics GRE. I received a score of 880 (out of 990), placing me in the 83 percentile.

I received an A in college-level Linear Algebra. I also use it quite often in application, because Physics relies on the techniques heavily (e.g. eigenvalues, systems of equations, etc.). I can assist in learning the subject from a mathematical point of view and from the its applications in science.

I have been a Mac user since 2012. I have integrated many Apple products into my life, using them in conjunction with my Mac OS: iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Time Capsule, and Apple TV. I also have experience with all of the native application on a Mac OS, including using the Terminal application for more advanced work.

I have used Mathematica for 2+ years of research in Physics. I mainly use it for its ability to numerically solve coupled differential equations. I also have experience with plotting techniques necessary for extrapolating information from numerical data in Mathematica. These techniques were essential in creating figures for my publications in Physics.

I have a BS in Physics, graduating with highest honors. I am currently a graduate student in Physics, working toward a Ph.D. I have tutored college-level Physics since 2012.

I have tutoring experience with trigonometry as its own subject. I also introduce the application of trigonometry in physics and calculus tutoring. I am capable of tutoring beginner to advanced trigonometry.
