Hi, everyone!

I love learning and helping people discover what their best method for learning is. I love sharing knowledge and fostering the hunger and wonder for continued knowledge-seeking in others. If my experience and outlook on teaching/tutoring can benefit you or someone you know, let's meet and see how I can help!

I was born in Tucson, AZ, and was raised in Tijuana, MX. I've had the fortune of growing up in a bilingual and bicultural city and society, which has granted me what I feel is a unique perspective and approach to problem-solving and the schooling system in general.

In addition to my B.A. from Berklee College of Music, I have an associate's degree in transfer studies from SouthWestern College in Chula Vista, CA, with a heavy focus on calculus and physics. I was aiming to be an engineer/ physicist in my former life, but decided I'd focus my analytical and problem-solving skills towards helping musicians
capture their art.

While at Berklee, I was a tutor for two years for all the recording courses, explaining complex topics in ways that help students visualize and absorb rather than memorize. I definitely like to take a "big picture" approach to learning, explaining the "why" of concepts and helping students tie in new information to tangible scenarios they can make sense of.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you however I can!

Music Production

I studied Music Production & Engineering at Berklee College of Music, where I gained theoretical knowledge and practical experience in acoustic recording techniques, Digital Audio Workstations (well-versed in Pro Tools, Logic and GarageBand), basic signal flow, analog and digital console operation and in-the-box (software-based) sequencing and mixing. During my time at Berklee I logged over 500 hours of recording and mixing in the studios, and worked as an independent tracking and mixing engineer at various studios for many artists in the Boston area. While at Berklee, I was the tutor for engineering/recording courses for five consecutive semesters.

Spanish

Spanish

I'm fluent in Spanish, grew up in Tijuana, attended bilingual school (Spanish primarily) from first grade through 9th there, and have a strong enough grasp of both it and English that I'm able to switch between them seamlessly. Since I had to learn both languages simultaneously growing up, I'm equipped with the tools to help those new to the language find similarities (where they may exist) between it and English, as well as fun/easy ways to remember rules and pronunciation.

Before going to College to study music formally, I took private lessons in both classical and popular guitar techniques, and played guitar at least once a week for three years in a Wedding/Event Band. While at Berklee College of Music I took four semesters of private instruction in guitar performance and improvisation covering technique, inversions, ear training, harmony, etc. I played guitar with at least one wedding band during my 7 years living in Boston, covering all genres from Hip Hop to Dance to Rock to Pop to Jazz.
