University of Memphis (Civil Engineering)
I am a civil engineering graduate who recently completed my BSCE at the Herff College of Engineering, where my institutional GPA was 4.0. During my educational career, I have studied many subjects such as physics, calculus, algebra, trigonometry, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and statistics. I also studied many subjects related to my major in civil engineering such as civil engineering materials, hydrology and hydraulics, engineering economics, soil mechanics, traffic and transportation engineering, engineering geology, structural engineering, mechanics of materials, reinforced concrete design, and steel design.
I am proficient in Microsoft Word as well as Microsoft Excel (including engineering applications for Excel). I can help with all topics I have studied, and with writing technical reports and making presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. I received a 1370 on my SAT exam in 1999 and can teach SAT subject matter. I also have passed the EIT exam and can help you prepare for your EIT/FE exam. I enjoy teaching and believe that I am good at it. I always enjoyed helping fellow classmates with questions they had and also was a grader for two semesters of engineering economics. My philosophy is to try to simplify as much as possible and help to understand the fundamentals. I feel it is always easier to understand how to do something if you first understand why you are doing it, and what purpose it serves, rather than to just show how to go through the motions.
Knowledge is power and I look forward to helping to teach you. I am a civil engineering graduate who recently completed my BSCE at the Herff College of Engineering, where my institutional GPA was 4.0. During my educational career, I have studied many subjects such as physics,
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied civil engineering at UC Berkeley and have my B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis. I graduated in 2013. I am currently working as a civil engineer in San Diego for a company called TRC. I have my F.E. (EIT), which I passed on my first attempt in 12/2013.
