In your personal life, you are known for the company you keep. In your professional life, you are known for the company that keeps you.
Over a career spanning fifteen years, I have worked with several multinationals and risen rapidly through the ranks to become one of the youngest Creative Directors in Ogilvy Advertising and later Vice President, Development and Marketing, at Vinod Chopra Films. Across all the positions and ranks I have held over this period, my contribution has largely shifted the course of events for the companies I worked for.
At Ogilvy, the division I joined was a start-up and I was the lead Art Director and Creative Supervisor—primarily responsible for pitches and presentations. The division grew rapidly to boom from four employees to nineteen in just under a year and effortlessly held its position as the most profitable division, for the time I was around. I hired the teams and mentored every member to create award winning campaigns. Among the hundreds of creative professional I have mentored, today several of them hold very high positions as Country Heads and National Creative Directors across major international advertising agencies.
This trend has continued across all my engagements. In my last major commitment with an organization, as Vice President of a boutique film production house in Mumbai, I restructured the company and mentored the newly recruited team—driving it to new levels of success. In the three and a half years that I was at the helm, the company released three feature films, two of which became the all-time highest grossing films in Indian history. Today, that small boutique company is regarded as one of the biggest studios in India.
My early education in a Catholic school and a Bachelors in Physics set a strong foundation for a life-long passion for learning. In 2005, I acquired a Diploma in Film from Prague Film School, with a double major in Direction and Cinematography. Professionally, I am involved with several projects ranging from feature films to television series. To keep my creative juices flowing, I actively participate with various research studies in Neuroscience and Natural Healing.
Recently, I have had the pleasure of interviewing two 'Time 100' neuroscience pioneers. In 2009, I was invited by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to his palace in Northern India. His interest in education with a focus on the inner expansion of the mind for personal growth was the common string that connected us and brought my work to his attention.
In 2011, I founded a 501(c)3 non-profit organization; the vision that continues to propel my team to face new challenges each day is to create a readily accessible abundant resource of education tools packaged as mainstream entertainment for individuals of all ages and every walk of life. An empty mind is a devil's workshop. Our brain and mind can expand infinitely, it is only a matter of how far we are willing to stretch it. The one's who stall their education and stop their path of learning meet with stagnation and decay. The result of such a stasis can be fatal. One can lose their will to live and engage in self-destructive and anti-social behavior.
This is a central theme for my work and personal commitment for growth—I wish to engage and inspire as many individuals as I can to push their boundaries in exploring their highest potential. Having traveled extensively throughout India, Europe and North America, I have interacted with diverse cultures and am very tolerant to new ideas and challenging concepts. I have learned immensely from these experiences and I am better for it.
Additionally, my vocabulary is extensive because of the numerous subjects I pursue. I actively engage my mind in pursuit of new concepts and ideas for inventions and discoveries in medical science, product design and lifestyle improvement. My work in films and entertainment involves constantly translating my experiences and observations into captivating moments on screen, this involves songwriting, composing, screenwriting, writing dialogue and several other innovate ways to convey a thought. I have also addressed several gatherings and have been well received for my rhetoric and discourse. I believe being active physically and mentally helps improve one's intellect and cognition, maybe this might have something to do with my high IQ score of 140.
Among the subjects students are likely to gain an unmatched mentoring from my experience and talents include: English (both as a foreign language as well as a second language), literature, film production, video editing, post production, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, graphic design, theater, songwriting, screenwriting, computer skills, Mac OS X, career planning, meditation, relaxation, science, math, and general knowledge.
I greatly appreciate your taking the time to review my profile and I look forward to having the opportunity to work together to help you and/or your child achieve remarkable results and enjoy the process of education.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas
