I love to write! I have been a professional editor for over twenty years, and I have helped my clients achieve success in a wide variety of writing endeavors. Academic papers (high school, college and graduate level), statements of purpose, fiction and non-fiction stories and novels, and grant proposals are some of my specialties. I have also helped my clients write stories and articles that have been published in popular magazines and professional journals. Currently, I do most of my work online. Clients email me their statements or papers, and I edit them and email them back in a timely fashion.
When editing, I primarily focus on grammar, word choice, organization and flow of thought. Due to my years of experience, I can edit projects quickly and effectively. I also offer my clients free revisions.
Besides proofreading, I tutor high school and college students in academic writing. My extensive expertise in editing has helped me develop very effective teaching methods. I work hard with my students to improve their organization, methods of composition, thesis statements, and overall writing skills. My students learn to write top-grade papers!
My education includes a B.A. in World Literature from UCLA and a M.S. in Teaching English as a Second Language from Cal State Fullerton. I took my studies very seriously and at both schools graduated with honors: Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA and College Honors from CSF. My TESL degree gave me the knowledge and techniques to teach English as a Second Language in any setting. I have taught ESL to children, adults, and business professionals, and I have many tricks up my sleeve to make language learning effective and enjoyable.
After receiving my M.S. degree, I focused on teaching reading comprehension, academic writing and TOEFL preparation. I taught at Cal State Fullerton and several private ESL schools.
