About Richard

I understand that sometimes Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Pre-Calculus) and Physics (I and II) and can seem overwhelming, but with the help of a great teacher, these subjects can become simply a matter of practice.

My love of teaching and clear, articulate style has afforded my students great success in these subjects.

It would be my pleasure to speak with you further about how I can help you or your student increase understanding, lower stress, and improve grades.

Regarding SAT/ACT/GRE prep, I know the SAT/ACT/GRE backwards and forwards and can teach the tricks necessary to decode the test, but I can also teach the underlying skills necessary to succeed.

I was an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NYU, and an Adjunct Professor for Physics I and II at CSI.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

For Algebra 2: I have worked with the California Algebra 2 textbook (McDougal Littell) for High School grades 9-12.

C++

I was a Computer Science Tutor Team leader at my University, where I instructed many students in Object Oriented Programming in C++.
