I am a chemistry high school teacher and college tutor in Orange County, California. I teach many different subjects but specialize in chemistry, math and science. I earned a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego with a major in biochemistry and a minor in psychology. I am able to help chemistry and other students do well in their studies by better understanding their school work. I teach students how to complete assignments with accuracy because they truly understand the material. In addition, I help students understand ways to take tests that produce higher grades. I help students learn to make the difficult seem easy, while greatly increasing their understanding and grades. I can help you achieve a higher grade and understanding.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experience both in teaching business/business classes and running several small real world business. I have taught business and business math classes while as a substitute high school teacher in California. I also extensive experience tutoring and teaching various math classes at both the high school and freshman college level here in Montana. The businesses I have owned and operated include four small companies: precious metal brokerage, personal storage facility, hat sales company and temporary employment agency. This real world and teaching/tutor experience gives me the required knowledge to help tutor students in business and business math.
I am qualified to tutor the scientific subjects of the MCAT test (specializing in chemistry) because I have taught and tutored chemistry for many years. I am also qualified because I have tutored several students in the MCAT science subjects within the last several years. My educational background also demonstrates my ability to tutor students because I have a B.A. in biochemistry, and I have taken an older version of the MCAT myself.
I am qualified to tutor organic chemistry because I am an experienced chemistry tutor for both high school and college students; earned a B.A. from the University of California in biology/biochemistry; have taken taken two semesters of organic chemistry, advanced biochemistry and many other related classes and have the ability to make difficult subjects seem easy.
I have extensive experience in public speaking through my years as a substitute teacher, tutor and involvement with the law. I have spoken to students and adults of all ages and backgrounds and have learned how to adjust my words and thoughts to the appropriate level of the audience. I have also learned how to teach others how to effectively speak in public by working with students in high school English classes. Whether a student needs help in learning what to say to a group or overcoming fear/anxiety when speaking, I can help a would-be speaker how to successfully gain the skills he or she needs to communicate effectively.
Due to my extensive experience as a public school substitute both in California and Montana, and as someone who has had to organize science study materials both as a high school and freshman chemistry tutor, I am able to help students understand how to organize a class cirruculum in a way that allows a student to easily learn the material in a methodical and practical way. Because I have tutored students with diverse backgrounds from honor students to those with learning disabilities, I have developed the ability to help the student self-evaluate their strengths and weaknesses in their ability to learn on their own. I have learned to examine their own particular learning abilities. I help them identify that which prevents them from being successful in their chosen class. For example, in a math or science course it is essential to understand whether a student has the prerequisite math and science skills or whether one needs to review earlier courses. In social science and English classes, a certain level of previously developed reading writing comprehension is needed to understand new material. I help students learn to evaluate their skills, self-correct and then move on to successfully study the new material.
