What I bring to this position are skills in computer science, an experience of 6 years of teaching Math, programming languages C++, JAVA and VB6 to students in middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate schools, and 3 years of professional experience of developing software. In Summer 2014, I taught Math to gifted middle-school students for Duke TIP. I took them on field trips, like ‘The Tower of America’ and encouraged them to apply the trigonometric concepts to calculate the height of the tower. Kept the class attentive for long hours through innovative group games and fun-filled, yet educative videos.
Until recently, I was a Computer Science research scholar at Syracuse University with a focus in Neural Networks and Machine Learning. Developing software for self or others is a hobby which has warranted learning new technology.
I worked on a project that entailed estimating the Snow Water Equivalent using ANN. In the year 2012, I worked in CIT, Milton Keynes, UK for a year in .NET Framework. Prior to that I finished Master's from UAHuntsville, Alabama. The work experience in IT industry started off when I interned at Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai and Patni Computer Systems, Mumbai. After graduating with an Engineering Degree in Computer Science in Mumbai, I worked for Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), Mumbai. Hobbies are few but swimming, yoga and lawn tennis are routine. The lake effect snow in Syracuse attracted me to skiing and ice-skating. I have wonderful memories of hiking in the smoky mountains in the South. In my spare time, I dabble in oil and acrylic on Canvas and hope to continue exhibiting. Family- immediate and extended, and loved ones are in New Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai, Houston, Seattle and New York. Ayesha helped my daughter with precalculus. Ayesha was very patient with her and was making sure she understood the math. Ayesha cared that my daughter really understood. I will be having Ayesha come on a regular basis as my daughter's grades have improved with her help. Big thanks to Ayesha!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
