Hi! I am new MD graduate with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (with Honors), and certification in ESL teaching.

I have a lot of teaching experience - I have taught English as a Second Language for grades 3 through 6 in South Korea. I have tutored high school students in the Oakland Unified School District in Math, and have tutored college students in Immunology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry for 3 years. Many of the students I have personally tutored have literally Aced their exams or have shown an improvement in their academics due to my ability to determine the correct method of studying for each unique student.

I am also a pianist. I have taken private lessons throughout high school and college and minored in music in college. I specialize in Classical music, but I also find pleasure in Popular music as well. I have been a piano accompanist for bands and choirs, a pianist and percussionist for marching bands, jazz bands, and orchestras. I was awarded the Barbara Hazelton Scholarship from Mills College. During my undergraduate years, I was a piano teacher and taught fellow classmates who cannot afford private lessons at the local college. I can teach younger children (K-3) basic piano skills and older children music theory.

I am available to teach young children piano and I can teach Elementary to High school math (up to algebra). And of course, I am very much available to teach high school biology, IB biology, pre- medicine, and English as a second language. You (or your child) will see improvement in grades and self-esteem when working with me.

Piano

I have played the piano for more than 15 years and can also play the xylophone and marimbas. I attended the University of Redlands Community School of Music and the Arts for 6 years and am a two time Merit Award Winner. I have also participated in local music festivals. I worked as a piano accompanist for Pacific High School's choir in 2004 and for Cajon High School's choir and theater department from 2004 to 2006. I minored in music during college: I have taken courses such as Exploring Music, Classical and Romantic Music, Diatonic Harmony and Counterpoint I and II, Intermediate Early Music Vocal Assemble, and The World of Opera. I have also taken a graduate Seminar on Stravinsky and Bartok and did a research project on Bela Bartok's Night Music. During this time I have also taken private lessons with the pianist Robert Schwartz. I have given music lesson in the past to fellow students who could not afford the fees for private lessons offered at the School. I tend to focus on Classical and Romantic Music, but I also can teach jazz and popular music. Not only do I play the piano, I also play the xylophone, marimbas, and the guitar.
