I am a college professor of political science. I have been teaching at the college level for eleven years now. I teach American Government, Comparative Government, International Relations, and Politics of the Middle East courses.
I love teaching and tutoring, because I love learning. I hope the enthusiasm that I bring to every tutoring session will help students enjoy the learning process. As a committed lifelong learner, teaching and tutoring give me the opportunity to continue to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I truly enjoy simplifying complex concepts for students and sharing my knowledge with them. It is such a good feeling when a student “gets it” or when they ask a good question. I love working with students!
It’s important that students care about what they’re studying and understand how it’s relevant to their lives, so I always discuss how the material we are covering impacts them directly or indirectly. My role is to facilitate learning, motivate students to achieve their full potential, and to teach students how to think critically and independently. I care deeply about student success and work to inspire students to succeed.
I am available to tutor students in the following areas: government and politics, history (both American and world), English (reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar), geography, proofreading, social studies/sciences, anthropology, and the humanities/philosophy. Feel free to ask me any questions. I look forward to working with you and/or your children and helping you achieve success in your studies! I am a college professor of political science. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I also did some public speaking in my previous capacity as a legislative aide for a California State Assembly member. Finally, all of my students have to deliver at least one oral presentation every semester.
