Hello parents and potential students!

A little bit about myself, my name is Matthew Liang and I am a third year veterinary student at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to graduate school I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Department and the Life Science Core Curriculum Department at UCLA.

During my time in Los Angeles, I also worked as an in home tutor for a wide variety of grade levels and subjects. I mostly tutor all levels of math and science.

I am a well qualified tutor due to my prior experience as an educator in the UC system and my passion for high quality education. I have worked closely with thousands of college students through discussions and office hours explaining class material as well as advising students on successful studying and learning techniques. Courses that I have taught are LS1 (Ecology, Evolution, & Biodiversity), EEB100 (Ecology & Behavior), EEB 110 (Vertebrate Morphology) and EEB 120 (Evolution).

I have also been highly involved in a number of volunteer organizations at UCLA that work with high school students from the greater Los Angeles Area (UCLA Mentorship and UCLA Unicamp).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need tutoring lessons.

I recently took the GRE for admittance into veterinary school and scored in the 88th percentile. Additionally, I spent the last year and a half working as an in home tutor mostly teaching math to students from 7th grade to seniors in high school.

Knowledgable and helpful

Matthew possessed a deep understanding of biology/evolution and was very helpful in helping my son to gain a better understanding of the subject matter, as well as helping him to prepare for his AP Biology test.

Knowledgeable

He is very knowledgeable and good at explaining the material. My son was very happy after studying with him. We are very happy to have him tutor my both kids.
