About Christina

I am qualified to be a tutor because of my several years of tutoring to all age groups (mostly adolescence) and mentoring several young and teenage youth. I have a passion for listening, understanding, observing, and helping which are qualities that have lead me to this field of work. I’ve used great organizational skills, people skills, and professionalism with all my previous tutoring positions, along with knowing how to manage my priorities in a timely manner. I've passed the CBEST exam and I currently have an active Substitute Teaching Credential in the state of California.

I have completed my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and focused on adolescent development. I have maintained at least a 3.3 grade point average and stayed on academic good standing during my entire college career. I have been able to enhance my already exceptional people skills by learning about the social aspects of human life by taking courses such as Social & Cultural Dynamics, Social & Emotional Development in Adolescence, and Theories of Human Development. I am currently working on my Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling/Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have lots of Tutoring/Mentoring Experience. I have worked at California State University of Eastbay - Project Impact tutoring at the College Level in many subjects like: English, Communication, Human Development, Sociology, Psychology, Ethnic Studies etc.

Also I have been employed with an organization named Girls and Boys Moving Forward which empowered K-12 age students by teaching, tutoring, mentoring, and counseling in All subjects.

I am also a tutor through The Buddy Systems which I tutor the Age Group K-12 in many subjects like: Study Skills, Writing, Grammar, Organizational Skills and Interpersonal skills.

Currently, I am a full time tutor with a local company which provides one-on-one tutoring for ages K-12 in reading and Language Arts.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have tutored Elementary students in all subjects for years and I have also worked in the classrooms of local elementary schools as a Teachers' aide since I was in Middle School. All my community service hours while in High school were dedicated to the classroom of my former Elementary school teacher.
