In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master of Arts in Biblical Archaeology, with an emphasis on the Old Testament from Wheaton College. I read biblical Hebrew and Greek, and have taught Sunday School Vacation Bible School classes with elementary school-aged children and have led home-based Bible studies with adults. In addition to years of attending hearing the Bible taught at church, in Bible studies, and in college classrooms, I have also personally read the Bible through several times.
I have experience proofreading papers, most often for a friend of mine who is a Ph.D., on articles that he submits for publication in journals.
