I lived and grew up in Jordan until I was 26 and since then I have lived and studied in the United States for eight years. I received my AA degree from Consumes River College, my BA in political science, and my MA from California State University, Sacramento. I have my unique cultural background experiences that shaped my learning and knowledge acquisition. I developed self-confidence and a sense of independence at an early age. Plus, I worked very hard to sharpen my analytical skills, and more importantly, I was able to adjust quickly and ease the cultural shock that many students faced.
I have lived in two different cultures and have gained specific cultural knowledge as well as personal experiences in living in both the American and Middle Eastern cultures. I have the ability to relate well to people of ethnic and cultural diversity as well as assist students in their educational processes. I have supervised, coached children, assisted with homework assignments under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Furthermore, I scored papers and assisted the classroom teacher in curriculum areas. Also, I have tutored students in English, math, and science. In addition to that, I have the knowledge and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Samia really wants you to succeed. In 2 hours she already taught me new words to use in everyday language. Looking forward to continue with Samia.
Samia is a great teacher! She takes care to emphasize how to read or pronounce a word in addition to understanding the meaning of the word, phrase, or sentence being learned.
I was very happy to tutor you Arabic. Good luck in your learning process. In future do not hesitate to contact me for more lessons.
Samia is fantastic. She puts so much into her lessons and is extremely patient. I absolutely love studying Arabic with her!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I grew up in Amman, Jordan all my life. I was an A student in the Arabic Language. I have a few months of tutoring in Arabic in America.
I have been working with Special Education students to prepare them to understand the concept of the math problems and how to solve the problems by explaining to students how to use math in their daily activity. One of the activity we took the students to a visit a grocery store . The teacher and myself thought them when they go to the grocery store and they want to buy a pound of apple. The cost of the pound is 1.49 and they bought 2 pounds There is 2 ways to solve this problem by additing 1.49 twice and rounding 49 cents to 50 cents and subtract 2 cents from the total so 1.50+1.50 = 3.00 - .2= 2.98 , So the students will learn to see the apple touch it weight it do the addition on paper and also use their phone to calculate the prices
