I have over 12 years experience as an educator in special education and K-6 general education classes. Also, I have tutored under-performing students in Language Arts/Reading for over 6 years to meet or exceed grade level California State Standards as a vendor for SCUSD. In the summer of 2009, I was selected as a site coordinator for the Mayor's Summer Reading Program. Most students increased their fluency scores by 15-20 points in 4 weeks. I am currently a substitute teacher.

I am open to tutoring within a 15 minute drive of Roseville, CA. I am currently available after school on Tuesday and Thursday as well as an occasional Saturday. I have been most successful increasing reading fluency, comprehension and test taking skills/scores.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding your child's academic needs and goals for success. Thank you for your consideration.

Public Speaking

Public Speaking

Since I took my first debate class,I have been interviewed numerous times on TV, radio, and press regarding various public issues over the last 15 years. I have given speeches at public events and was asked to be a TV panelist for a Mayoral Debate. Speeches can inform, inspire, entertain, and/or persuade. The number one fear of most people is speaking in public. So overcoming that fear is a priority whether you are in front of the class, at an interview, making a business presentation, or speaking in a meeting. In fact, how well you can speak in public may mean the difference in success or failure in many of today's careers. So start today to be head of your class.

I have four years of experience working with special needs children in both first and second grade, especially with mild-moderate autism. This is a very important time to establish both language and successful behavioral/learning skills. I have had great success teaching non-verbal students to verbalize and high anxiety children to remain calm in various school and social situations. All children deserve a good start in school and life so that they fulfill their full potential.
