As a child, I enrolled in Kumon, a widely popular tutoring service that empowers their students with not only academic skills, but also other vital skills such as work ethic, and organization. Many aspects of Kumon have helped shape my academic life and improved my overall lifestyle, which has inspired me to become a tutor and guide the younger generations in a similar fashion. My aspirations as a tutor are to make math fun and enjoyable for all my students and carry on the values and methods that Kumon has been so successful in using. My lesson plans will include a fun and captivating way of explaining the various concepts, followed by a few sample problems to help ensure the student is picking up the concepts well. I will do my very best to provide an enjoyable experience yet still make certain that the students are attaining the information I am explaining.
Math is a hard subject to excel at, therefore it is extremely important to have a teacher who can customize the lesson plans to fit each and every student's unique situation. I believe that being a 19-year old student will help me connect to my students better than most because I am also a fellow student.
