Hello Student,
If you are checking out this profile then you most likely are looking for a tutor! So let me assure you that I would like to help you and am very interested in your success. Here is a bit of my background.
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (CAL) as a history major with honors (Cum Laude) and distinction in general scholarship. CAL’s history program is very unique in that it requires students to attend seminars where they learn top level skills in researching and critical evaluation of source material while also writing a 30-50 page thesis. During these sessions students learn to read books and articles in rapid fashion and distill their import to accomplish massive amounts of research in shorter periods of time. I personally went through 60+ books and over 200 articles in less than six months to write my thesis. In that thesis I focused on the German Fascination with Native Americans in the late 1800's into the 1960’s.
I continued this research at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) as a Ph.D. student. I currently tutor full time with an ultimate goal of writing a series of books.
My passion in life is helping others reach heights they never thought possible. Even the smartest and brightest among us need help reaching the next level sometimes. While attending college many of my peers would ask “How do you consistently score higher than everyone else?” Honestly, it is nearly impossible to simply replicate one approach to studying or doing anything as each individual is unique. One of my strongest assets is my ability to personalize advice that allow me to find the best solution for them.
I have tutored high school and college students in a variety of subjects for over fifteen years. I am an upbeat motivator by nature that infuses humor, when possible, into anything I do. It has worked in my favor as students find the humor comforting. While the range of topics I tutor can be serious my approach to teaching doesn’t have to be. I often tell stories of my own experienc

Engaged and knowledgable

Andrew is teaching my son, who is a high school freshman focusing on critical thinking. Andrew is engaged, detail oriented and has worked with me closely and has kept me updated on my son's progress. He goes out of his way to let me know each time what they covered in the lesson, feedback as to my sons performance, and letting me know how we can supplement his learning outside of class hours. My son has enjoyed his classes so far and finds Andy interesting and knowledgable and this says a lot considering for the most part my son was an unwilling student. Now he looks forward to his time with Andy.

Knowledgeable

Made everything easy and understandable. Took his time and went over the material until I got it. Also had a great sense of humor. Made me feel much more relaxed.
