California Baptist University (Theory Composition)
Have you ever wanted to learn to play an instrument and experience the joy of making music? It is never too late to start! Music is a universal language that helps improve cognitive skills. It is shown to help children excel in other subjects such as math and reading. Music is a gift to share with family and friends and enriches life in many ways! Whether your goal is to play professionally or just for yourself, taking piano lessons is a very rewarding experience.
Through my years of teaching piano, I have instructed a wide variety of students ranging from 3 to 90 years old! I pride myself in giving a solid foundation of music theory to each student that comes through my studio. With this, they learn the "language of music" and can apply it to any instrument they choose to study throughout their life. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so they can reach their maximum potential and at their own pace. Concepts covered in lessons include technique, note reading, rhythm reading, music history, music theory, improvisation, and interpretation. Recitals are scheduled two times per year, which give students a chance to perform and show what they have learned!
My own music education started with the piano when I was five years old and still continues to today. I currently hold my Bachelors' of Music in Theory and Composition from California Baptist University and have been teaching privately for 5 years. I am able to teach a wide variety of styles from Contemporary to Classical, Broadway to Jazz, and everything in between!
I am currently accepting students in both my Downtown Riverside home-studio and in the Eastvale area. My rates are very competitive - $30 per half hour. Discounts available for multiple students! AND your first trial lesson is FREE!
I look forward to sharing the joy of music with you!
The foundation of music, theory, is one of the most important things you can learn in your musical journey. I pride myself in giving each of my students a solid understanding of music theory and the mechanics on how music works.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
