For Kindergarten, the focus in tutoring would be on writing/recognizing letters, letter sounds and numbers and moving forward in reading and math at the pace that fits the child. For 1st through 3rd, the focus would remain on math and reading, implementing them along with new subjects introduced. For 4th-6th, we would need to make sure the child is at grade level, reviewing any materials they may have forgotten or never understood very well, while making sure they stay current in all subjects. For the tutoring sessions, we can work on homework and any materials the parents wishes. I will also constantly evaluate the child and bring materials myself when the child's homework does not seem to be enough to gain understanding. This applies to all grade levels. To summarize, math and reading are the main focus at any age level, but science, history, art, etc. are equally important and can be used to help math and reading seem less tedious. I have worked for a tutoring company the past two school years. Most of my students are in elementary. I also work at a daycare where I am in charge of teaching the preschoolers. I also have experience with nieces, nephews, etc.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

My daughter really felt comfortable with Valhalla and was able to understand the subject more clearly. Val was early to our appointment and prepared to assist my daughter. My daughter was at a crossroad of dropping her advanced math class and Val was our last resort. Thanks to Val's teaching my daughter is now staying in the class. We will defensively hire her again. Thank you, Val!

Very Very Patient

I'm 53 years old and haven't been in school in 30 years. Val made me feel like it was ok not to remember or absorb the way I did in high school. She was great.

Patient and understanding

She has been doing an awesome job with my son. Since she's been tutoring him I've seen so much growth in his reading as well as his confidence in himself!

Great results!

We have seen great improvement since Val has been tutoring our 6 year old. Lili was receiving grades of 1 and 2 on her spelling tests and now she receives 3's and 4's.

Very knowledgeable

Very nice and very knowledgeable in every field I was having problems in. Explained them in a easy was for me to understand and remember. Helped me pass the math portion of the GED test.

So great to hear you passed! Thank you for your kind words and congratulations!

A boost of confidence!

My daughter said, "She was really good. She was funny and really helped me. I enjoyed the time she was here." My daughter was taking an online geometry course for summer school and was getting very frustrated. Valhalla came and helped her get through the topics she was struggling with and helped her prepare for the final. This helped boost her confidence. She was very patient and understanding. We will definitely call her if we need another tutor in the future.

My granddaughter is very fortunate to have Valhalla as her tutor!

My granddaughter should transition into another grade level with ease and knowledge because of Valhalla. Of all things I can provide for her, having a private tutor like Valhalla is the greatest of gifts.

Very patient

Val is fantastic. She has boosted my kids confidence and you can see it. She is on time and communicates very well with her assessments of my children. No doubt, Val wants to see her student succeed.

My daughter gained so much!

Valhalla was such an amazing and patient tutor, I only wish we could have brought her with us to Long Beach! I saw my daughter go from far below average to average in 2 months time. I truly recommend Valhalla as she won't let you down and you can truly rely on her ability! Thank you!
