Hello potential tutees!
I'm a 28 year old certified math teacher. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2008. My major required a broad-range of higher level mathematics and science courses. While an undergrad, I started tutoring for a small, private tutoring company. I tutored in subjects ranging from Physics to Calculus. One of my students was even accepted to Stanford!
This is my fifth year teaching mathematics in the classroom. I started teaching geometry and algebra II at Locke High School, and now I've taught subjects ranging from SAT prep to Calculus at a project-based charter school in the South Bay.
I will work with your student to ensure that they not only can solve the assigned problems, but also how to critically evaluate problems and understand math at a more deeper, cognitive level by explaining topics in the methodical, comprehensible fashion I have obtained after being in the education industry for over 7 years.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about me or my tutoring style. I look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
