Associate's Degree in France (Accounting)
Bonjour, I'm Aline, a Parisian tutor with a true passion for French culture and language. I moved from France to California a little over two years ago. My tutoring experience started while I lived in Paris, helping foreign students (of all levels) to increase their proficiency in French. I give interactive lessons and use the TPRS method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). My teaching style is tailored to each student's individual needs and interests. When I work with children I often use artwork based instruction (drawing, painting, and other creative activities).
Whether it is to learn the basics of the language for a trip, practice your grammar, or improve your conversation level, I can definitely help you out! I currently live in Redwood City, where I have a quiet and comfortable space for studying.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Bonjour, I'm Aline, a Parisian tutor with a true passion for French culture and language. I moved from France to California a little over two years ago. My tutoring experience started while I lived in Paris, helping foreign students

Aline is a wonderful person and extremely patient with my children. She is creative and able to adapt her lessons to their ever changing moods and level of interest. I am impressed that she is able to engage them, even when they seem distracted. I appreciate that she is so flexible and works hard to make their lessons fun. She is warm and caring, even attending to and incorporating their outside interests. Our family enjoys her very much.
Aline is a patient, warm, intelligent person.
She "listens" and is a great teacher. I have learned so many words already, including genders in the French language...and this was only my second lesson.
I look forward to French lessons because of Aline
My 9-year-old twins can't stop talking about how much they adore Aline. She is so patient and fun and teaches in a way that my kids respond very well to. So grateful we've connected with her!
Aline is a very positive tutor and gives me encouragement me even when I am dumbstruck by some of the material. I have had no prior French language lessons. I am learning pronunciation along with grammar (verbs and pronouns). She is very fun also and I highly recommend Aline.
My daughter said she liked teacher Aline after the first lesson and I think that's critically important for a 4 year old to pick up the interest of learning the language.
Aline has great ideas for lessons. She comes prepared with recipes, songs, and other activities that are fun. She's always punctual. In addition, she knows when to correct errors, and when to just let you speak. This is important for building confidence. Merci, Aline.
My wife and I have had a very modest introduction to French, but basically forgot everything... Aline is helping us get going again with the right amount of encouragement, guidance and as an extra bonus of being from Paris she can teach us about the culture too! Looking forward to more lessons and I highly recommend Aline to anyone interested in learning French, and not just the language but Parisian life as well.
Aline exceeded my expectations. Her attention to grammatical detail, in addition to her total commitment and devotion, were deeply appreciated!
I have been taking French lessons with Aline for several weeks, its really fun. I am a beginner, and she does a great job explaining things (grammar, pronunciation) in a way that I can understand them. She shows a good deal of patience and is encouraging when I'm fumbling over difficult words. I've tried out other tutors as well, and I really enjoy Aline's supportive teaching style. She is also very knowledgeable about cultural and historical facets of the language. I highly recommend her tutoring to anyone who is interested in learning French.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
