As I started my second career as a teacher, I worked as an elementary after school instructor working with elementary students in small groups in language arts and math. As I started my second career as a teacher, I worked as an elementary after school instructor working with elementary students in small groups in language arts and math. Afterwards, I spent (2) years teaching 4th grade full-time, and have been a certificated substitute teacher with full teaching credential since 2013, teaching children from kindergarten to 6th grade. I have two (2) Bachelor's Degrees: in English, and Administration (with a specialty in Accounting) from two different universities.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked my way up in the accounting field from clerk to manager. I spent over 25 years in the field and am currently retired. Math was always one of my strongest suits growing up, and was an absolute requirement in order to succeed in the bookkeeping and finance profession.

Being well-read and trained in writing as an English major, as well as a current elementary school substitute teacher with credential, I know my English language skills are quite sharp. I have always been versatile and effective at using words to communicate both orally and written. These skills are crucial to increasing comprehension and understanding with students, peers, supervisors, and others.

As a former English major in college and 4th grade public school teacher who needed to prepare students for the 4th grade level writing examination on the state tests, and as a current substitute teacher working with students from kindergarten through 6th grade, I feel very confident that I will be able to significantly improve any language arts skills you want to work on. Also, as an accountant in my first public life, my math skills are pretty sharp too!
