I have a lot of experiences of teaching both in Japan and the U.S. I taught English to Japanese children and adults in Japan, and after I moved to the U.S. About 30 years ago, I taught Japanese privately, and worked at preschool and elementary schools. I hope to teach Japanese to anybody who is interested to learn. I would also like to share Japanese cultural knowledge as I grew up in Japan. I can teach some artworks such as origami in addition to teaching language.
I am looking for some students who want to learn Japanese this summer. If you can come to my house in Rancho Santa Margarita, I can show some Japanese TV programs as a part of lesson. I subscribe to TV Japan, and their programs have mostly no English subtitles, so it would be a very practical Japanese practice. Of course, I will help you to understand some part. I will choose only appropriate programs. Please join me studying Japanese this summer! My time will be pretty flexible during summer. Thank you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experienced working for elementary students in the classrooms. I can teach any subject and I prefer lower graders. I can work for study skills and homework help. I will use workbooks and other fun methods to make students interested in studying.
I was a lead teacher for K- Plus program which was in YMCA before and after school care. I made lesson plans and gave an enrichment program for kindergarten students before they went to school every morning. I taught English reading and writing with various skills such as phonics and ryming words. I also taught them Japanese and French in basic levels as extra skills. They seemed to enjoy learning.
