Hello, I’m Erin. I recently graduated Cum Laude from Wellesley College, with a degree in English Literature. In addition to my coursework at Wellesley, I completed sociology, and playwriting courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) through its cross-registration program. I also spent the summer of 2018 studying film and television writing at the University of Southern California. I am currently taking a gap year, and will be attending law school next fall. I have already been accepted to Duke Law School, and am incredibly excited to continue my educational journey.

Admittedly, I was a late bloomer when it came to academics. In elementary school, my attention deficit disorder made focusing in class and completing assignments on time difficult. Fortunately, I had teachers and tutors who made school more manageable, and even taught me that education could be enjoyable. I believe I am more appreciative of my education because things did not always come naturally to me, and I can relate to students who need some extra support. I know the global pandemic, from the Zoom classes to the loss of regular social interaction, has made education challenging for several students. I decided to pursue tutoring because I want to help students reach their goals in the face of uncertainty, and show them that learning can be fun and fulfilling in the process.

I believe my strongest assets as a tutor are my writing and editing skills. In addition to majoring in English Literature, I served as Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper. During the four years I spent with The Wellesley News, I wrote over one-hundred articles and worked directly with students to edit and fine-tune their pieces. I also interned at CBS News in Washington D.C., where I wrote digital articles, fact-checked stories, and edited scripts. I recently studied for and took the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). I scored a 171 on the test, placing me in the top 98%. I also took a formal logic class at Wellesley College, which helped me grasp the logical reasoning portion of the exam. Logical reasoning is my strongest section, but I also feel confident in my ability to teach the reading comprehension and analytical reasoning (games) sections.

Stop looking for another LSAT tutor. Erin is the best. I say this after working with three other tutors before her. She has a lot of energy and is really friendly so her explanations feel super helpful. She is really intelligent and you can see how she has a very clear image of the test and can pick up really fast on what you need to work on. She is really open to whatever you want to work on, but she will assign work if you ask for it. She is really active in the session and engaging and I love working with her. She has a lot of availability and is really flexible about times to meet. My score has already gone up 10 points since I first met with her. Working with her makes the test seem more fun and less work.

A tutor that goes above and beyond!

I've had my fair share of tutors, and Erin outperforms them all! She has done an exceptional job at tutoring me in AP Government and English Writing. What sets Erin apart from many tutors is her style of teaching. She is flexible, and manages to find many ways of interpreting difficult concepts/topics for the student to understand, notably in an impressively short period of time. I've never seen my test and essay scores improve so drastically in as little as a week, and I owe it all to Erin. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her, and I can say with certainty that I will continue to choose her as my tutor!
