I am a Chemistry Teacher in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, and I have been teaching for about 5 years now. I have done private tutoring for a little over two years, while I was studying in college and getting my Master's Degree. I love working with students, and tutoring sessions are as helpful as they are fun. I have improved grades by at least one letter grade, and sometimes more, depending on the subject. I think most students find me relatable, and many of my own students have told me that they like the way I explain things and break them down. I pride myself on being able to explain the same chemistry or math problem using different methods, so that students can use the method that they like best.
I graduated in 2014 from UCLA in Environmental Science (a compilation of all sciences) and I now also have my Master's Degree in Education from UCLA. I started after school tutoring for some students on campus this year, and realized how much I miss tutoring students one-on-one. I love tutoring because I can see the progress within my students and watch as they become more confident in their skills.
I am most experienced in Chemistry, Algebra I & II, Latin, and Earth/Environmental Sciences. I am also experienced tutoring Biology I, as well as SAT Math I and II. I was a straight A student in high school, and have received 5's on Chemistry AP and Environmental Science AP. I received 4's on Latin and Calculus AP. I attended high school at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in 2010.
All in all, I think I'm a great match for some students, and look forward to giving students the confidence and guidance they need to succeed in their math and science classes!
