Bio

I am a Chemistry Teacher in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, and I have been teaching for about 5 years now. I have done private tutoring for a little over two years, while I was studying in college and getting my Master's Degree. I love working with students, and tutoring sessions are as helpful as they are fun. I have improved grades by at least one letter grade, and sometimes more, depending on the subject. I think most students find me relatable, and many of my own students have told me that they like the way I explain things and break them down. I pride myself on being able to explain the same chemistry or math problem using different methods, so that students can use the method that they like best.

I graduated in 2014 from UCLA in Environmental Science (a compilation of all sciences) and I now also have my Master's Degree in Education from UCLA. I started after school tutoring for some students on campus this year, and realized how much I miss tutoring students one-on-one. I love tutoring because I can see the progress within my students and watch as they become more confident in their skills.

I am most experienced in Chemistry, Algebra I & II, Latin, and Earth/Environmental Sciences. I am also experienced tutoring Biology I, as well as SAT Math I and II. I was a straight A student in high school, and have received 5's on Chemistry AP and Environmental Science AP. I received 4's on Latin and Calculus AP. I attended high school at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in 2010.

All in all, I think I'm a great match for some students, and look forward to giving students the confidence and guidance they need to succeed in their math and science classes!

I have been painting from high school, and since I've graduated from UCLA, I've been taking Continuing Education Program classes at OTIS College of Art and Design. I have found a mentor who has been guiding me through the Los Angeles art scene and helping me to hone my painting skills. I focus most on acrylic and watercolor paintings and a variety of styles.

Latin,

Latin

I took Latin in high school and a little bit in college, as I started at UCLA as a classics major. To maintain my Latin skills, I've tutored Latin 1 and 2 after graduating and have even given private lessons to students wanting to learn Latin. I am able to work out of your students' textbook, but I have my own copy as well.

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Environmental Science, which included many math classes. In high school, I did not have the best Algebra 2 Honors teacher, and therefore had to learn how to teach myself. I got an A in both semesters. I have been tutoring Algebra 2 for about 2 or more years, and I love explaining the concepts in a way that students can understand. I also have found many ways of explaining the same concept, and some of my own chemistry students even ask me for help on their study guides for their Algebra class.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I graduated from UCLA in 2014 with a degree in Environmental Science, which included several chemistry courses. I scored a 5 on my Chemistry AP in 2009, when I attended high school, and I had a chemistry teacher who inspired me to follow in his footsteps and teach chemistry. I have been teaching Chemistry for 5 years now, and I am well-versed in the new Next Generation Science Standards as well as the older standards.
