Thank you for checking out my profile. My name is Kate and I am new to Wyzant. I have an earned doctorate in Educational Psychology from USC and two Master's degrees. I have extensive experience working with K-12 students of all ages and ability levels, including second-language learners and special needs students. I have instructed all core subject areas, but specialize in English instruction. Additionally, I have tutored and mentored adult transition students, former high school students, and Master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation candidates.
Learning needs are unique to the child, and therefore lesson plans and tutoring sessions need to be very specialized and personalized--tailored just for your child. I will meet your child where they are at academically, intellectually, and socio-emotionally to ensure that learning is a pleasant and rewarding experience all around. I'm an instructor of English literature & composition, grammar/linguistics as AP, SpEd, and ESL K-12 through collegiate levels. I also instruct in the disciplines of mathematics and social sciences. I use multiple modalities to cater learning to the individual student’s strengths and preferences.
