In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked as a bilingual para educator for one year at a middle school, and for six years at an elementary school. I assisted with instruction in both English and Spanish, and was in charge of DIBELS and MAPs testing.
I worked at an Elementary School as a Bilingual Paraprofessional for 7 years; part of my duties were to keep students organized and accountable for their homework assignments.
