If you have ever felt inadequate, pressured, or just plain stupid, I promise you I've seen it and been there. In my more than 5 years of experience tutoring high school students, I've had thousands of opportunities to successfully walk students through performance anxiety, frustration, and even failure. How was I able to do so? By drawing on my own experiences of overcoming all of the above. If you're looking for a tutor who values patience and empathy above all, without sacrificing quality and the drive to push boundaries, then I encourage you to invest your time in what I can provide for you.

However, working with me entails far more than just a sympathetic soul to hear you out. Language is my passion -- from my native English to the Korean of my parents and beyond, and it would be my absolute pleasure to guide you towards a deeper appreciation of language through a mastery of how it works.

Nothing motivates more than seeing a student break beyond their limits and fears into a love of learning for its own sake. When it comes to tests and exams, I will lead you to see not just what the answer is -- nor even why it is -- but why it couldn't be anything else. For everything else that's less certain, I as a tutor give you full permission to wonder, ask, and explore.

Aside from the years of professional tutoring experience under my belt, it is my aim to help you understand the "why"s beneath the "why"s. There is no question about language or the way it works that I will ever consider a waste of time. Having explored literature in my university years and having spent even more time afterwards guiding students through the wobbly woods of grammar and critical reading, I can offer you a deep dive into the English language from all angles -- from artsy to academic.

My evening hours are flexible and free, and with plenty of experience with online teaching, I hope to make the process of meeting with me as smooth and pain-free as possible.
