Hello! My name is Juan and I have been a STEM tutor for over 12 years. I was certified by the College Reading and Learning Association through Mount San Jacinto to help tutor people suffering from math anxiety and learning disabilities. Hello! My name is Juan and I have been a STEM tutor for over 12 years. I was certified by the College Reading and Learning Association through Mount San Jacinto to help tutor people suffering from math anxiety and learning disabilities. I was also given a Certificate of Excellence by the Dean of Mount San Jacinto college for my roles in student learning, professionalism, and resources surveying.
I recently graduated from University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I really love tutoring Calculus, Differential equations, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physics. I also have three Certificates in SolidWorks-Mechanical Design, Simulations, and Additive Manufacturing.
For hobbies I enjoy fixing and tinkering with broken things and making them work again. I love design and making things such as fishing lures and baits. I know how to 3D print, slice, and program printers as well!
Knowledge of MATLAB programming and SIMULINK for designing PID controllers is also known.
I love learning and I love to help others learn as well.

My 12 years as a tutor have made me a very patient person. I can identify and tailor my learning style to better match the tutee. I can identify if a person has a learning disability or math anxiety by observing key behaviors and patterns. This allows me to really dial in the tutoring session to give the individual very customized sessions. I myself have taken and passed the AP Calculus exam in high school with a 4. I reached as high as differential equations and linear algebra.

When it comes to science, it is very import to inspire! Without inspiration and encouragement from the people you learn from, that person will not succeed and find science just another boring topic to learn. My knowledge of science, chemistry, and physics can truly help a person wonder and appreciate the world around them in a different light. I truly love to inspire the people I tutor and motivate them to be fearless and resilient by encouragement.

I have three SolidWol

Solidworks

While in University, I took a full years' worth of SolidWorks applied courses. They included an intro to SolidWorks course, and two very intense senior design classes where were designed our own sugarcane juice press. We used SolidWorks to simulate all the forces and run fatigue analysis on all components of the machine. In addition to this applied experience, I used it regularly, in tandem with my 3D printer to design and fix various things and design products I will sell very soon. I have 3 SolidWorks certificates in mechanical design, simulations, and additive manufacturing. In need be I can email them to you if you would like to see them. or visit my www.facebook.com/poke.an.ear to see them.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have tutored Algebra for a very long time now. I have 12 + years of tutoring expertise of various subjects. I have tutored at the college level and as well as middle school and high school. I am CRLA certified for tutoring specifically math related subjects. I have tutored for MSJC where I received a Certificate of Excellence for my contribution to student success and the Learning Resource Center.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have tutored Algebra for a very long time now. I have 12 + years of tutoring and using Algebra. I have tutored at the college level and as well as middle school and high school. I got my start tutoring for Mount San Jacinto Community College, where I received a Certificate of Excellence for my contribution to student success and the Learning Resource Center. I am certified by the College Reading and Learning Association for tutoring math specific subjects. This allows me to identify math anxiety and learning disorders to better tailor lessons to the individual's needs.
Calculus,

Calculus

I took AP calculus senior year in high school and passed the AP exam with a 4. I started community college in integral Calculus II and have taken multi-variable Calculus III as well. Calculus was a very powerful tool we used regularly in upper division classes. We used it a lot in solving ordinary differential equations, determining velocity and position formulas in classical Newtonian physics. Related rates were also used heavily. I have tutored all these things I mention now over the years as a private tutor and student.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have 12+ years of tutoring experience. I am CRLA certified through Mount San Jacinto Community College for math and science tutor specifically. I have tutored many people in chemistry I and II both privately and for MSJC. Currently I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and just graduated in March. I also have an A.A. in Mathematics and Science and an A.A. in Liberal Arts- Art, Humanities, and Communications.
Physics,

Physics

Physics can be very challenging. I have tutored the subject specifically at Mount San Jacinto Community College for 10 years. We regularly use Newtonian Physics, circuit analysis, and differential equations to figure out complex design ideas in university studying for my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. For example, my senior design project was to design a sugarcane juice press. Knowledge of material science, static loading, fatigue analysis, and physics in general is critical to designing this device.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I tutored at Mount San Jacinto Community College for nearly 6 years and over 12 years of private tutoring experience. I have had countless students in Pre-Calc. I have logged well over 4000 tutoring hours just at the community college, not including all the all the students I have tutored privately over the years.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I took precalc my Jr year in high school. I tutored at Mount San Jacinto Community college for 10 years. During my upper division I managed and ran a private tutoring business with only a couple of clients for about 2 years. I am a Master level certified tutor my the CRLA, College Reading and Learning Association. I precalc was the main subject that I have seen people needing help with. I also have a Certificate of Excellence for my contribution to student success at Mount San Jacinto Community. College

I tutored at Mount San Jacinto Community college for 10 years and managed my own private tutoring side gig. Here I obtained a math tutoring certificate from the College Reading and Learning Association granting through the community college. After I graduated with my Associates of Mathematics and Science, I attended University of California, Riverside where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering in March 2022. Chess

After a friend of mine showed me how to play chess in community college, I was hooked. I spent 4 years of my life religiously studying chess every day. I would watch every video and tutorial I could get my hands on. I have read "The Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games" which has 125 recorded games from the best grandmasters games of all times. I play chess puzzles daily, with a chess.com app ELO rating of 1849. In 2012 I founded and was the president of the chess club at Mount San Jacinto Community College, where I taught several new members how to play. I know a lot of opening theory, checkmate patterns, middle game, and end game strategy. I
