University of Southern California (Animation )
Hello there! I am a graduate from the University of Southern California with a BA in Animation and Digital arts. I have been drawing since age six and have taken formal fine arts classes for 11+ years. I am proficient in drawing in a variety of mediums, from traditional to digital means whether it be painting, sketching, or designing on Photoshop.
From a young age, I discovered that two of my main passions are art and music. After studying film in college and discovering the endless possibilities of stories that animation can create with just an idea and simple movement of lines, I fell in love with creating my own stories through this beloved art form. I want to channel my passion for art into visual development and illustration, whether it be for film, games, or books, because I believe that film and interactive media will always be powerful universal mediums that can connect different cultures through great story telling.
Tutoring Services I offer:
Beginning Lessons on how to Paint in Adobe Photoshop

Basics of Drawing
You choose what medium you want to get better in ( charcoal, pastel, etc,) and I will help you work on a design piece from start to finish
Professional and Volunteer Experience:
I am currently working as the lead artist on an interactive experience about a runaway slave in 1700’s Brazil; the game is scheduled to be released next year in early 2015. I also work part time at Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket, where I assist the lead graphic artists in designing on-air graphics with Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop. In the past, I have interned at animation studios such as Dreamworks Animation (Fall 2013), where I was a research intern, and Shadow Machine (Summer 2012), a stop- motion company where I worked as a visual effects intern on a feature film.
I have also had volunteer experience teaching kids English and art; in the summer of 2013 I served as a primary teacher at an annual weeklong English camp for kids in Chilibre, Panama. Assigned to teach the junior high group (11-14 years old), I was in charge of creating the entire lesson guide, which included daily 90 minute English lessons, games, crafts, and a skit in which the students practiced and performed at the end of the week. In the summer of 2011, I worked as a crafts teacher and academic tutor at a summer children's art camp at a local art school in San Diego called US Arts; I monitored children on a daily basis, tutored kids daily in math and writing, and lead daily crafts sessions for children ages four to six years old.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been drawing since the age of 6 and taking formal lessons in drawing and painting for 11+ years. I studied Animation and Digital Arts at the University of Southern California, where I learned how to create films, and integrate my unique 2-D art style into the films and stories I created.
I have also had experience teaching art to children; in 2011 I worked at a summer camp as a crafts teacher and tutor, where I taught 4-6 year olds various art- related activities and tutored all camp attendees in math and writing.
Through tutoring, I seek to teach students not a specific style of drawing, but how to draw correctly first, because fundamentals are most important.
I studied and received a BA in Animation and Digital Arts at the University of Southern California. My short film, "Emile" was selected to screen at the LA International Shorts Fest and the San Diego International Kid's Film Festival.
I have also taken classes at the Concept Design Academy, a specialized design school focused on training artists for the entertainment design industry located in Pasadena, California.
I plan to teach interested tutees the basics of animation and how to create engaging film composition and story beats through a singular image.
