About Eve

Effective Business Professional ESL, Editing & Proofreading, Essays/Applications

My two specialties are Business Level ESL and Editing and Writing. I have regular students in the LA area and enjoy working online with students from all over the country and world. I am also happy to direct you to my student feedback. I am flexible and offer reduced online and editing rates. I have many ESL students that are not in business but like my teaching style.

For ESL/ESOL: My corporate business background allows me to effectively help people who have taken regular English classes but need to advance with natural conversation, commonly used phrases, vocabulary, listening and pronunciation skills, job needs and improved writing. Raise your level of English with a business professional who understands your world. I respect and understand the difficulties with this language. Many students have formal grammar training but feel lost when they start work or school in the U.S. My goal is make each lesson useful and enjoyable. I have spent years perfecting effective materials and challenge you to speak and improve.
I also have middle and high school students I've been with for over 2 years. I am good at helping with ESL, reading and writing tutoring, and History.

Along with improving English, I also offer business consulting (see qualifications listed below) and editing help with business proposals, presentations, emails and meetings. Some students contact me for years to edit and review important written materials. My work in the Voice-over Industry is an asset when working on pronunciation.

WRITING, COPYEDITING, ESSAYS: I can help make your graduate application essays and research papers shine while keeping 'your voice.' I'm against making the essays conventionally the same as everyone else's or read as if lifted from an internet site. I also prompt and nurture creative writing for Middle School thru University students. I believe everyone can write when prompted properly. I am an educated and well-read editor using easy to understand editing suggestions regarding content, grammar, flow, format, redundancies. I offer in-person, online and also have materials sent to me after a discussion to edit and return. I offer different rates for online and particular needs.
I copyedited the non fiction book 'The Encyclopedia of Voiceover' by Kate McClanaghan and am writing a work of fiction.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT- As a former Marketing, Public Relations and PR manager in the automotive industry (Rolls-Royce Motor Cars) I excel at public speaking, communication, press, media, sales training, CRM, branding and experiential marketing events and concepts. I've dealt with corporations, media, franchises and high end customers and believe innovative and informed marketing concepts are best when tailor-made to clients, rather than the repeated run-of-the-mill practices.

I am understanding and offer encouragement and constructive corrections. I also enjoy relating to kids and teens by encouraging expression and understanding their needs with insight, humor, kindness and patience.
I enjoy seeing students grow and excel, but by prompting the use of their own minds.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
