I had an extremely difficult problem, and several tutors before Wade were unable to help me -- even after repeated sessions, but Wade managed to simplify and clarify all the variables in just one session. He is very smart and a good teacher.

My son was having serious difficulty grasping the concepts in 10th grade Algebra 2 even though he had done well previously. We started looking for tutors and were lucky to have found Wade on our second try. He is obviously extremely qualified in math and knows all the concepts. But more importantly, he can explain those concepts and has the patience to go over steps in detail when necessary. He made the difference for my son this year and we look forward to working with Wade next semester.

Wade did a great job understanding the needs of his student (my son). He was able to aid him in a number of subjects providing him additional ways of understanding complex subjects that were not necessarily taught in the classroom. Wade is patient and thoughtful (and obviously very intelligent) -- we are already planning on using his services for Calculus and Physics next fall.

Our son was NOT looking forward to taking Algebra 2, as he did not like math and felt as though he would surely fail the class. Wade was so fantastic with him. In our son's words, "Wade is such a great tutor; he explains complex things in ways that I can easily understand. He made it easy for me to learn, and he also taught me how to learn it on my own." Wade's amazing talent and patience resulted in our son earning an A in Algebra 2 all through the school year. Our son credits Wade for this accomplishment. He said that he could never have done it without Wade. Wade was able to explain and teach in such a way that our son never felt spoken down to, condescended, or patronized. He truly looked forward to every session. We really appreciated how flexible Wade was throughout the year, as well as his patience and understanding of our son.

Wade is patient, knowledgeable, and explains mathematical concepts in a way that makes everything easier to understand. He answers questions, helps to make complicated material simpler, and he is a terrific tutor!

Wade is punctual, has an in-depth knowledge of the subject he tutors, and has great communication skills, which he uses effectively to help the student. Great tutor!

Wade is as professional and insightful as they come. His mastery of algebra at the college level is superb! You cannot go wrong with this guy.

He understands the student very well and guides the student in right direction. I strongly recommend him. Wade is thoroughly professional. If my child needs tutoring I am willing to hire him again.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I started college as a Computer Science/Physics major, and in my first year completed the core CS requirements, including the courses "Decidability and Tractability" dealing with foundational theory and "Introduction to Algorithms". As an upperclassman, I informally tutored both of these classes, as well as taking various topics classes. I have also participated in the Intercollegiate Computer Programming Competition, as well as several other smaller algorithms and programming competitions.

I was required to take a differential equations course as part of the core curriculum at Caltech. Solving differential equations was also an integral part of several of the physics classes that I took (QM, waves, etc.) Further, I have been tutoring the core differential equations class at Caltech for three years (both the analytical, rigorous course and the applied problem-solving course).

I am a math major at Caltech currently doing research in graph theory and combinatorics with a professor at Caltech. I have taken several discrete math courses and I spent a summer solving hard problems in discrete math with a friend. I began programming in high school, so the first advanced math that I did was discrete math (using Knuth's book called Discrete Mathematics). I have also participated in high school math competitions (ie AIME) and a college math competition (the Putnam) for several years, and in both cases the majority of the math fundamental to the problems was discrete math.

I took introductory and advanced discrete/finite math courses while in college, as well as helping other students who were taking the same courses. Further, much of the research level math I did was combinatorial. I have also had more than five introductory combinatorics/discrete math students who I helped throughout their college courses.

I took a rigorous course in linear algebra as part of my core curriculum at Caltech. Further, I have taken both an undergraduate and graduate level abstract algebra course, both of covered linear algebra in extreme rigor. I have also taken five terms of physics as part of my core curriculum, as well as several other physics courses, all of which had as their primary machinery linear algebra, so I have lots of experience applying linear algebra in many different situations (ie for solving linear algebra problems, for solving differential equations, for working with operators, etc.) Further, I have tutored the first year linear algebra course at Caltech for the past two years (both the applied section and the analytical section.)

I took Spanish I-IV in high school, and I took the AP Spanish exam. I received my high school's Spanish award for excellence in both spoken Spanish and classwork. Since high school, I have regularly practiced Spanish with friends who are native speakers. Further, I have always had a great interest in grammar, so my Spanish grammar continues to improve in advanced grammar topics.
