“**Great Tutor..." Adjusts the way he teaches to the way you learn"**”

Do you find math and physics hard to understand? Don't worry. Many people do, but I can show you how to succeed. As someone who has excelled in these classes as an honors student undergraduate and who also attended graduate school at

Here are the comments from my 16 year old son...

" He explains the problems in many ways until you really understand them"

" He makes sure that you understand every way to approach a problem"

"He raised my grade from a B to an A"

"He can adjust the way he teaches to the way that you learn"

Joshua explained everything that I got wrong to me, and then some more. He showed me what is wrong with my mistakes, and helped me get rid of them.

Joshua was a very patient and knowledgable tutor. He recently tutored my son on his high school AP Calculus and it has helped my son in understanding the subject matter better.

Joshua was able to explain complex concepts in a way my son could understand. His knowledge of math and ability to impart that to others has been a great asset for us!

Joshua is very kind, patient, and observant of the student. He is approachable and kindly offers suggestions. As a parent I observed he asks the "why" question of the student as needed during problem solving. I will ask for his tutoring again.

Joshua was able to get started right away with my son as a new student. He kept his attention for an hour and covered a great deal of math test review material. He made note of areas of weakness and moved forward with ares he has mastered. Great tutor.

GRE
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

This introduction to higher level math above arithmetic may be daunting, but I will help you get through it, understand it, and hopefully enjoy it. Even though it may seem hard, you will be able to understand functions, solving for variable and related topics necessary to get through this subject.

Calculus, while complex, is important, as it introduces students to higher level thinking about functions, as well as being indispensable for studying physics. It was really an eye-opener when I took AP Calculus BC in high school and scored a 5. There are many techniques that must be covered, and I have experience teaching them both to high-school and college students.

Having trouble with the GRE? Don't be intimidated. Once you understand the format of the questions, there is only a limited amount of information you have to learn. As someone who got in the 99th percentile in verbal and 97th in math on the new GRE, I can help you ace your exam.

I have tutored two separate students for the ISEE middle and upper level exams. I know how to help these middle school students do well on their pre-algebra and algebra, as well as analyzing tough passages and responding to questions about them.

I have taken a college course in linear algebra. In addition, I have used linear algebra in multiple advanced physics and mathematics courses. It remains the basis for me for more advanced methods.

I have always loved physics, majored in it in college, and took graduate physics classes at Caltech. I have tutored both high school and college students and have found ways to help students get beyond the initial air of formidability that surrounds the subject and helped them understand the material and do well in their classes and on exams.

I understand that the math tested on the SAT can be tricky, but I have many tricks that I have used to help students succeed that I learned when I received a 790 on the math section of the SAT. I also have received training on the new SAT and the additional subjects contained therein, so I am qualified to tutor both the new and old versions of the test.
