Background: I've worked for many years in the High-tech industry and then as a professor (Dean of Engineering). After retiring, I am now teaching (4 years) in a local High School, and enjoy seeing the growth of my students. My main focus is you, the student! How can we help you achieve your goals? Should we work more on technique or concepts? It all depends on the student. For the competitions, I specifically enjoy exploring creative solutions with my students. We work both on basic concepts (say modular arithmetic) and how it appears in competitions. I have many additional resources to help you. For example, if you have homework questions, we'll solve these and then go over additional relevant problems and ideas. This allows us to scaffold you to the desired level. If we are starting a new subject, I have many classroom-proved engaging lesson plans. I combine deep understanding of the subject matter (I taught University classes in Math), proven classroom experience (am teaching in High School now), and wealth of resources. In addition to examples and activities, I use Desmos, CodingBat, PracticeIt, and other online resources. Together we can make it work: I will explain and support the concepts and techniques, and you will bring it to action in your classroom.

Subjects

Computer

C,

C

C is my first and favorite language. I have taught C in college, and taught programming in high school as well. I have the patience and to work together and get you to a working program.
Computer Science,

Computer Science

I am currently teaching (for the 3rd year) AP-Computer Science in high school. I've worked for many years in the Software industry, and taught Java/C/C++ in college and high-school. I have many resources to help you grasp both the technique (Syntax) and the concepts (how to solve problems and Java concepts).
MATLAB

MATLAB

I started using Matlab during undergrad research in 1986, and then used it throughout my career as researcher. I used Matlab to develop prototypes, interface to hardware setups, and to create real viable apps delivered to users. Published many papers using Matlab simulations. I can help with the basics for school project, or with a Machine Learning project in industry.

Homeschool

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I am teaching ALg2/Trig for the last 4 years in High school, both in the Honors level and Regular. I also taught Math101 and Math102 in community college, which combine parts of Alg1 and Alg2. This is one of my favorite subjects to teach, and I have a lot of experience presenting the ideas and techniques from different angles.
Calculus,

Calculus

Taught Waves and Radiation (which involves a lot of Calculus and differential equations) and Stochastic Processes (more calculus and also discrete math) in University grad level, and now (retired) am teaching Multivariable Calculus in High School.

My research and studies involved plenty of linear algebra. I am currently retired and teaching in High School, so have plenty experience teaching at all levels.

Excellent tutor!

He began to prepare me for the AP Computer Science exam. We reviewed some practice problems together. Zach was very helpful! I look forward to continuing to work with him for a while.

Excellent lesson

My daughter just raved for 5 minutes about how good her Comp Sci lesson was - can't say better than that!
