In July of 2014, I left ten years' successful practice of law in Chicago as a commercial litigation attorney to support my family's move to the Bay Area. I am now a stay-at-home dad to two beautiful children. I am licensed in several jurisdictions, and will likely be transitioning back into full time work at a law firm in the coming months, but would like to tutor a few hours a week in the meantime to keep myself busy.

I consider myself to be an extremely competent legal writer - having received many compliments by judges and co-/opposing counsel over the years. Legal writing and oral argument forms part of the core of what I do on a day-to-day basis as an attorney. I served on my law school's National Moot Court Team as their designated legal writer.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have passed the bar exam in Illinois and California, and have taken both BarBri and a smaller California-centric review course and am familiar with their methods. I am well versed to provide assistance with the California Essay portion of the exam, as well as the Performance Test.
I have been a licensed attorney for ten years.
