Antelope Valley College (Adm. of Justice)
Working on BS in Criminal Justice (Enrolled)
I am a certified general and advanced tutor with the College Reading and Language Association. My AA in Administration of Justice was earned in June 2005 and I passed the CBEST then as well. I taught high school: Biology, Chemistry, Algebra II, Geometry, and English from 2008-2011 with a local charter school. Homeschooling my five sons has been a huge part of my life for the past 21 years, as well as teaching various homeschooling classes of 12-24 students for the past 16. From 2005-2008, I substituted in three, local private schools. Currently, I privately tutor, teach homeschool classes to high school students, am a principal for a local private homeschool, and am working on my bachelor's in Criminal Justice. I also have experience working with special needs children!
The greatest thing about teaching and tutoring is being able to help a student "get it", to fully understand a topic they are struggling with. It is also a joy to instill a love for learning in them, even for chemistry!
Thanks for looking!

I like the way she goes about helping my child understand her math problems she's patient and understanding. She sets a goal and I have no doubt will get my child to achieve that goal.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
