Antelope Valley College (Adm. of Justice)
Working on BS in Criminal Justice (Enrolled)
I am a certified general and advanced tutor with the College Reading and Language Association. My AA in Administration of Justice was earned in June 2005 and I passed the CBEST then as well. I taught high school: Biology, Chemistry, Algebra II, Geometry, and English from 2008-2011 with a local charter school. Homeschooling my five sons has been a huge part of my life for the past 22 years, as well as teaching various homeschooling classes of 10-24 students for the past 16. From 2005-2008, I substituted in three, local private schools. Currently, I privately tutor, teach homeschool classes to high school students, am a principal for a local, private homeschool, and am working on my bachelor's in Criminal Justice. I also have experience working with special needs children!
The greatest thing about teaching and tutoring is being able to help a student "get it", to fully understand a topic they are struggling with. It is also a joy to instill a love for learning in them, even for chemistry!
Thanks for looking!

I will tutor up to two students (in the same subject) for the hourly fee. Cancellation within five hours before tutoring is to occur will result in a charge of 1/2 my normal, hourly tutoring fee.
I like the way she goes about helping my child understand her math problems . She sets a goal and I have no doubt will get my child to achieve that goal. This is an update on Cindy P. my tutor, it's been a couple of months and she is amazing with my child. When she started my child was holding a D in Math with no improvement, after Cindy P. started working with her and in just 2 months time she has my child holding a B in math and I have no doubt by the end of this month my child will hold an A. Cindy P. is great with kids, she knows what they need and takes them to the goal set. She is patient and understanding yet firm and can get the job done. Thank You Cindy P. for all the hard work and how you have my child working hard.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
