My career has been in the arts and education on many different levels. I was the study for Ed Solomon's (Men in Black, Charlie's Angels, Imagine That) character Miles Evans for which Morgan Freeman played in the 2003 film Levity. He has been the subject an original autobiographical television pilot written by Jeff Fiskin (Cutter's Way, Revenge, The 60's, The 70's) and produced by Linda Obst (Adventures in Babysitting, Sleepless in Seattle, Contact) called Homeboyz dealing with the care and nurturing of hardened gang members and student dropouts in Watts and south central Los Angeles in the 1990's. I have been featured in many articles and television programs dealing with youth-at-risk, gang intervention.

During my 24 year career in education and entertainment I was writing and directing plays, producing, composing music, writing musicals and going to film school on my spare time. I have been directly or indirectly involved in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. I have played piano for over 43 years and taught many students. I would be happy to help you or your child and will answer any questions you might have of me.

In terms of my methods of teaching I set out to identify the strengths of my students and redirect those strengths into helping any weaknesses they may have. Exploration and discovery is the best way to approach a subject in order to know it. Learning becomes easy as long as there is a connection to an end product or result. Thank you for your time.

I am currently the Executive Director of the Laity Institute of the Arts a Private Arts Foundation and the Laity Theatre Company both located in Palmdale, CA.

I am currently the Executive Director of the Laity Institute of the Arts a Private Arts Foundation and the Laity Theatre Company both located in Palmdale, CA. Throught Laity I have produce and direct over 30 plays and musicals. Personally I have written two screenplays, three teleplays, four musicals, a book on faith and several one acts and Anthologies.

I was taught music, piano and composition privately for 10 years beginning at age 5 from my Godfather, Ervin Sapp. The focus at that time was in the classical genre. At age 15 I continued my studies of piano and composition privately under another teacher where the focus was improvisation and composition until I began college. From there I continued to studio music, piano and composition taking classes in music at California State University Dominguez Hills where I graduated with a Degree in Theatre Arts. I attended UCLA and completed the program in Film Scoring in 1995. Since that time I have written 4 musicals, scored 2 films, recorded and released 2 CD's one most recently in May called Promises To Keep: Then & Now. I am a member of NARIS(The Grammy's) The Dramatist Guild, The Academy for New Musical Theatre, The Composer's Forum and other organizations. I teach the Suzuki method as well as my own. I have been an educator for 24 years and retired in 2007 to run the Laity Institute of the Arts a non-profit private arts foundation established by my wife and me in 1989.

I teach basic music theory from children thru adult learners. Fundamentals are taught so additional concepts become easier to grasp as the student progresses. I like to have fun and encourage all my students to do the same. Music is beautiful and learning to understand it makes it that more appealing to the senses.
