Danish Teacher College & ASU (Photography) (Art and English)
University of the Arts (MA in Art Education) (Master's)
A disciplined, enthusiastic and experienced teacher and artist, I have extensive K-12 classroom experience with regular elementary students and middle and high school students from troubled backgrounds. My broad experience has motivated me to adapt my style to the specific needs of individual students with widely ranging learning styles and special requirements.
I hold the Danish equivalent of a B.S. in Education, I spent three years at Arizona State University taking advanced undergraduate classes towards a BFA in Photography, then accelerated my education by securing a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
My specific expertise as a tutor includes teaching math, English, photography, digital photography, digital art and various other means of artistic expression. I have strong mentoring skills, and develop precise learning objectives based in an awareness of a given student's needs. I am perceived as charismatic, disciplined and fair by my students, who are generally inspired by my unique cultural background. My application of rigorous Danish academic and performance standards, combined with the skill to connect with each student, yields efficient and effective learning. My hope is to inspire all my students to a constant state of curiosity.
Raised at a dairy, I have lived in rural and urban Denmark, Qatar, Sweden, Arizona, Pennsylvania and California, and have had the privilege of traveling to a dozen other countries. I have seven years of classroom teaching experience (3 in elementary school, 4 in middle and high school), and have taught adult students in digital photography.
I am available from 9AM to 9PM Pacific Time, will travel within the Coachella Valley, and my rate for tutoring is $45 per hour (I will customize a program and quotation on request).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a digital photographer who can provide a portfolio on request. After completing my degree in education in Denmark and teaching for three years (including serving as my schools audio/visual coordinator), I took 3 years of advanced undergraduate work towards a BFA in Photography at Arizona State University. I subsequently took a Master of Arts degree in Art Education at UArts in Philadelphia, PA, during which nearly all of my studio work was in photography. Finally I have used photography extensively in my classroom work as a Special Needs teacher.
